Cara Hancy Named Athletics and Recreation Office Assistant

JOHNSON, Vt. – Johnson State College Director of Athletics and Recreation Jamey Ventura announced today the hiring of Cara Hancy as the Athletics and Recreation Office Assistant.

Hancy will oversee the general office operations within the Athletics and Recreation Department, performing a wide variety of clerical and administrative tasks for the department.

"We selected Cara from a very competitive group of applicants and the committee felt that her experience paired with her welcoming personality will be a tremendous asset to SHAPE," says Ventura. "Cara is a great addition to our team and we look forward to having her establish relationships with our staff, students and community members through our commitment to wellness."

Hancy brings an extensive background in aquatics and administrative work. She is the owner and an instructor for Just Ducky Aquatics, which provides quality aquatic programming to the community year round. She has also served as an instructor and administrative assistant in the University of Vermont Department of Campus Recreation.

Hancy received her Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education from Ithaca College in 2004.

She will begin her duties on Monday, September 18th.
