Eckman Elevated to Associate Athletics Director at Northern Vermont University-Johnson

JOHNSON, Vt. - Northern Vermont University Associate Dean of Athletics and Recreation Jamey Ventura is pleased to announce the promotion of Greg Eckman to Associate Athletics Director at NVU-Johnson.

"Greg Eckman has earned this opportunity," says Ventura. "Greg is perfectly positioned to take on the additional leadership role of running the day-to-day operations of our department. His energy and optimistic approach has helped serve our student-athletes and coaches well and I am looking forward to his continued contributions to our department's success".

Eckman began his career at Johnson as an assistant basketball coach for the men's team under head coach Michael Osbourne from 2006-2011. Eckman was then named Head Coach of Women's Basketball at Johnson in the 2011-2012 season where he remains today. Most recently, he served as the Assistant Athletics Director for Student Development. In this position, Eckman worked with student-athlete academic support and would assist players and coaches with monitoring and encouraging student-athletes' success in the classroom.

"I am honored to have been selected for the position," says Eckman. "Being part of the Badger family for the last 12 years has been an incredible opportunity and joy for me and my family. I look forward to working with Jamey Ventura, President Collins, the Johnson athletics coaches, staff and NVU staff to further the mission of Northern Vermont University-Johnson Athletics and will work hard with the coaches every day to bring out the best in each of our teams, on and off the playing surface."

As the Associate Athletics Director, Eckman will take over all facets of operations at NVU-Johnson as Jamey Ventura was recently promoted to Associate Dean of Athletics and Recreation at both Northern Vermont University campuses.
