NVU-Johnson Cross-Country and Track and Field Prospect Camp

JOHNSON, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson Cross Country and Track and Field Prospect Camp will be held on Saturday, December 1st. 

The Northern Vermont University-Johnson prospect camp will feature what it is like to compete at the college level in both cross country and track and field. You will have the opportunity to meet Head Coach Shawn Woods and learn how these sports differ from the high school level. You will take part in an offseason workout that will be tailored to building strength, agility, speed and endurance for both cross country and track and field. You will meet with NVU-Johnson admissions staff and have the opportunity to take an official campus tour. 

Head Coach:Shawn Woods brings 34 years of experience coaching high school athletes in cross country and track and field.  He has also trained adults for races of varying distances from 5K's to marathons.  Coach Woods served for over two decades as the Director of Athletics at Spaulding High School in Barre, Vermont. During his tenure at Spaulding he was not only the head coach of both boys and girls cross country and track and field but was also twice named high school Athletic Director of the Year for Vermont.  

Location: Northern Vermont University-Johnson is located in Johnson, Vermont. Johnson sits atop 350 acres in the heart of the Green Mountains. The university is central to many major ski resorts and is 25 minutes from Stowe, 15 minutes from Smugglers' Notch Ski Resort, 45 minutes from Burlington, Vt.
