POLICY REGARDING TEAMS TRAVELING WITHOUT AN ATHLETIC TRAINER
Teams traveling without a Certified Athletic Trainer MUST have a written prescription from their Certified Athletic Trainer or team physician for the treatment and use of therapeutic modalities of their athletes. Any necessary supplies involved in the treatment and/or taping of athletes from visiting teams traveling without an Athletic Trainer (student or certified) should be sent along with the team.

- Ultrasound
- Electrical Muscle Stimulation
- Hydrocollator
- Taping and Treatment Tables
- Whirlpools (Hot/Cold)
- Ice Packs
Standard Supplies for Visiting Teams:
- 1 – 5 or 10 Gal. Cooler-Water
- 1 - Chest - Ice
- 1 Sleeve of Cups/team
- SAM Splint/Vacuum Splints
- Crutches
- Telephone Access
- Biohazard Containers
- Direct Training Room Access
- EMS on site when available
The VTSU Johnson Athletic Training Staff arrive approximately 1 ½ hrs prior to game time for treatments and taping. If you have athletes that must receive treatment before participation please call your contact person so that we can provide you with the best possible care.
