David's academic and athletic foundation was established at Elizabeth City State University, where he studied and played basketball. Continuing his pursuit of knowledge, he graduated from Rutgers University. He then embarked on a remarkable decade-long tenure at Rutgers University's Douglass Developmental Disability Center. During this time, David served as a Home School Consultant, Job Coach, Teacher, and After-School Supervisor/Coordinator, working diligently to make a positive impact on the lives of the individuals he served.

Transitioning to a career in athletics, David's passion for basketball led him to become an assistant coach at Manor College, where he devoted his time to mentoring and guiding student-athletes. The opportunity to coach alongside his college mentor and head men's basketball coach, Alfred Johnson, at Vermont State University-Johnson, further enriched David's coaching journey. Currently, he serves as the Associate Head Coach for men's basketball and Assistant Coach for women's basketball at the university.

In addition to his contributions to the world of sports, David has pursued a career in law enforcement and is now a sworn Deputy Sheriff for the Lamoille County Sheriff's Department. This diverse background showcases his multifaceted approach to making a positive impact in the lives of others.

Throughout his impressive 22-year career, David's focus has been on developing well-rounded student-athletes. He emphasizes not only their performance on the court but also their academic, physical, mental, and spiritual growth. His dedication to guiding and supporting young people, particularly first-generation college students from less-privileged backgrounds, is evident in his work.

David's leadership extends beyond the basketball court. He has played a pivotal role in pioneering new sports programs, leading basketball camps, and partnering with organizations like On and Off the Court, whose mission aligns with his commitment to professional development and the advancement of youth.

His ability to build meaningful relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and community members underscores his high character and genuine devotion to the success of others. David's intellectual curiosity, eagerness to learn, and commitment to sharing knowledge are traits that contribute to his continuous improvement as a professional.

David's experiences have prepared him to become a valuable member of the Vermont State University and greater Lamoille County community. His mission is clear: to continue working with organizations dedicated to empowering young people, emerging leaders, and families with the skills to determine their futures positively.
