Barnes Leads Terriers to 95-74 Victory

The visiting Thomas College Terriers overpowered Johnson State inside, scoring 62 points in the paint and holding a 35-30 advantage on the glass in a 95-74 win on Friday night in Carter Gymnasium. With the loss, the Badgers slide to 5-13 on the season and 5-6 in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC). Thomas College advances to 10-8 on the year and 6-5 in the conference.

The Terriers had three men score 10 or more points, and were led by senior Levi Barnes, who posted a game-high 36 points. Tyheem Simon posted 24 points while Carlos Gonzalez netted 14.

Ben Holl led his team offensively scoring 24 points, followed by senior Asim Khan who netted 13 points. Demetrius Slade added 12 points to the Badgers losing effort.

Thomas went on an early 11-6  tear to open the half. Johnson State regrouped briefly and tied up the game 11-11 and then again at 13-13 with 11 minutes to go. Thomas surged, closing the half ahead 42-32.

Johnson battled back and cut the visitor's lead to five, only to see Thomas drive to the net time and time again. Thomas ended the game ahead 95-74.

Johnson will host Me.-Farmington tomorrow at 3:00pm while Thomas will travel to Lyndon for a 3:00pm tip.
