Badgers Drop Final Game in NVU Tip-Off Classic

LYNDONVILLE, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's basketball fell to the Vermont Tech Knights in their final game of the NVU Tip-Off Classic. The Badgers lost by a score of 83-69.

The Badgers and Knights went back and forth for the majority of the first half. The Knights led by one point going into the second half. In the first the Badgers shot 42.4% from the field and 29.4% from behind the arc. The Knights came out strong in the second half outscoring the Badgers 42-29. The Badgers struggled to rebound the ball in the second half as Vermont Tech outrebounded them for the game 48-26. 

Senior guard Vernon Slater (Washington, DC) scored a team best 15 points for the Badgers. Winston Jones (Los Angeles, CA) continued to be consistent for the Badgers as he added 13 points. Trekel Douglas earned Player of the Game honors for the Knights with an outstanding 35 point, 11 rebound, six assist effort.  Eric Montanez added 15 points and eight rebounds.  Vernon Slater earned Johnson's Player of the Game recognition.  Vermont Tech remains unbeaten in five starts this season while Johnson falls to 0-2.
