MBB: Mountaineers Top Badgers 75-46

BENNINGTON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University- Johnson men's basketball team were defeated by Southern Vermont College by a score of 75-46 on Thursday evening.

 Sophomore Robert Dubose (Philadelphia, PA) scored a season high 25 points for the Badgers on an impressive 11-19 shooting. He also collected a team high 8 rebounds. Dubose was aggressive all-night scoring in different ways for the Badgers, Dubose was aggressive by attacking the rim and also went 1-1 from behind the arc. Throughout the first half the two teams made runs of their own. Around the eight-minute mark the Mountaineers locked in defensively and capitalized on their stops with points on the other end. The Mountaineers made a 9-0 run of their own to take the lead at 21-12. Four starters scored in double digits for the Badgers. While Andre Hodo and Josh Borders were the top scorers scoring 17 and 16 points on the evening. Borders ended the night with a double double collecting 11 rebounds as wel. The Badgers struggled to bounce back while SVC ended the first half going into the locker room leading 37-25. 

 The second half was no different as Southern Vermont outscored the Badgers 38-21 in the second half. Donell Shaw (Washington, DC) scored 7 points for the Badgers on 3-6 shooting while also collecting 7 rebounds. The Badgers struggled to hold onto the ball turning it over 18 times while Southern Vermont only had 13 turnovers. 

 With the loss the Badgers fall to 0-11 overall. They will host Maine Fort Kent this Sunday, December 16that 5:00pm.
