Braxton Benvenuti Commits to Men's Basketball for 2019-2020 Campaign

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's basketball program and Head Coach Miles Smith have announced an additional commitment for the upcoming 2019-2020 season.

Braxton Benvenuti comes to Northern Vermont University-Johnson from Miami, Florida. Previously, Benvenuti was a member of the Rainy River Community College men's basketball program in International Falls, Minnesota.

When arrived at NVU-Johnson, Benvenuti plans to pursue a degree in Sports Management. Throughout the decision process, Benvenuti was impressed with the NVU-Johnson campus and the opportunity to make an impact for the Badgers immediately on the basketball court. "After visiting and talking with a few other schools along with NVU-Johnson, I feel the most welcomed and believe that I can contribute in the classroom, on the court and within the greater Johnson community". Throughout his time at Rainy River Community College, Benvenuti controlled the floor as the starting point guard for the entire season. He led his team to a winning record and a post season tournament appearance.

"I am excited to add Braxton to our program", said Smith. "He will bring veteran leadership and the ability to shoot the ball. Braxton brings a high IQ to the game and will play an important role to help build culture".

Braxton is excited for his transition to the Badgers. "Joining the Badger family will be a great experience. I am excited for the opportunity to continue my basketball career".

The Northern Vermont University-Johnson will announce additional commitments in the near future.
