Freshman Jay Palmisano has been named North Atlantic Conference Rookie of the Week after stopping 51 shots for the Badgers on their opening weekend.

"This weekend was good for us because we figured out some things we need to work on. We'll go into the next game stronger,' Palmisano said. He continued, "I'm looking forward to playing good lacrosse this season and improving myself and the team along the way."

Palmisano started both games and clocked 120 minutes in goal during non-conference action, posting a save percentage of 56.0 percent.

Palmisano and the Badgers are 0-2 on the young season and open up conference play next weekend against Maine Maritime.
