Pilgrims Topple Badgers 24-2
New England College men's lacrosse toppled the visiting Johnson State College Badgers 24-2 in men's lacrosse action Monday afternoon.
 
With the win the Pilgrims improve to 9-1 overall and remain undefeated at 4-0 in North Atlantic (NAC) play.  The loss drops the Badgers to 0-5 on the season and 0-2 in the NAC.
 
The Pilgrims would explode for 10 first quarter goals, netting seven of the 10 goals over a six minute span.  NEC would go on to notch six unanswered goals in the second quarter, including two by Koda-Wataka Robinson to head into halftime up 16-0. 
 
Robinson would strike again for the Pilgrims in the opening minute of the second half before Johnson's Matthew Malek would get the Badgers on the board netting his third goal of the season at the 12:28 mark.  NEC would answer with three straight scores before Johnson's Mason Phillips would put in a pass from Matt Dekens with just 15 seconds remaining in the third quarter.
 
NEC would tack on four fourth quarter goals, including two more by Robinson, as the Pilgrims would eventually cruise to the 24-2 victory.
 
Leading the way for NEC was NAC Player of the Week Adam Shute who finished with six goals and Koda-Wataka Robinson who recorded five goals and dished out an assist.  NEC's Skylar Saunders scored a goal and recorded four assists, while Sean Largay scored three times and had an assist for the Pilgrims.
 
NEC finished the game out shooting Johnson 77-16 and held the 53-19 advantage in ground balls.  The Pilgrims closed out the afternoon 2-of-5 with the extra man, while the Badgers were 1-of-3 in man up situations.
 
Picking up the win in net for NEC was Chris Galluzo who finished with two saves,.  In net for Johnson was Jay Palmisano who recorded an impressive 23 saves on the afternoon.
 
NEC returns to action on Wednesday, April 9 when they host non-conference opponent Babson College.  Johnson returns to action on Wednesday, April 9 when the travel to battle non-conference opponent Regis College.
