Spartans Topple Badgers
The Spartans finished their regular season schedule by beating Johnson St. 19-1. Castleton earns the perfect regular season mark for the second straight season, earning the top seed and the right to host in the upcoming NAC tournament. Johnson State slides to 0-10 on the year and 0-7 in the NAC.
Zach Davidson finished with six goals and two assists for a game-high eight points, while Alex Green, Austin Titus, Sean Paradis, and Evan Tucker each tallied a pair of goals to send the Spartans to victory. 
Jefferson Lawler finished with the Badgers' lone goal off a smooth assist from Andrew Neddo. In goal, Jay Palmisano made 23 saves on the evening, but couldn't keep the explosive Spartans off the board and took the loss.
Castleton put up seven goals in the first quarter, leading off the scoring just 38 seconds into the game. Zach Davidson possessed the ball behind the net and dished it out to Alex Green for the score. The Spartans followed with six more in the frame, three from Davidson, a second goal from Green, and two from Sean Paradis to earn the 7-0 lead at the break.
In the second frame, Castleton focused more on possessing the ball. The squad outshot the Badgers 21-2 in the frame, but scored just four goals. Louis Alhage tallied a goal, followed by a score by Davidson. Alex Denny and Nick Neugebauer each scored in the frame as well as the Spartans took an 11-0 lead into the halftime break.
In the third, Castleton added three more goals to their lead, taking a 14-0 advantage. With under two minutes left, Johnson St. scratched the scoreboard with a goal of their own. Andrew Neddo drove to the net, drew a second defender and passed across the crease to Lawler who one-timed the ball off the goalie and into the net. The score made it 14-1 going into the fourth quarter.
In the final frame, Castleton added five more goals to their lead, going up 19-1. Evan Tucker scored a pair, Davidson added his sixth of the game, and Austin Titus and Nick Romeo each added a score as the Spartans rolled to the victory. 
Castleton improves to 11-5 on the year, and improves to 8-0 in the NAC. The squad will earn a bye in the quarterfinal round of the NAC tournament with their top seed and will host a NAC semifinal on Wednesday, April 30. Johnson will host Green Mountain College tomorrow at Johnson State for a 3:00p faceoff.
