Pilgrims Roll to 18-3 Win over Badgers

New England College men's lacrosse would hold the Johnson State College Badgers to just three goals on their way to the eventual 18-3 win in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action Tuesday night.

With the win the Pilgrims even their overall record at 5-5 and remain undefeated in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play improving to 5-0.  The loss drops the Badgers to 2-5 on the season and 1-3 in NAC play.

Johnson would strike first as Noi Jones would net his first goal of the season assisted by Jefferson Lawler just 1:30 into the opening quarter.  The early score would be all the Badgers would get in the first quarter as the Pilgrims would net five goals, including two by Skyler Saunders to go up 5-1 after one. 

NEC would continue to put on the offensive pressure in the second quarter of play as the Pilgrims would out score the Badgers 4-1 in the second to go up 9-2 heading into the intermission. 

The Pilgrims would go on to tack on three third quarter and six fourth quarter goals and hold the Badgers to just one second half goal eventually cruising to the 18-3 victory.

Leading the way for NEC was Skyler Saunders who finished with five goals and five assists.  NEC's Matt Richard netted three goals and dished out four assists, while William Pendleton scored three times for the Pilgrims.

Picking up the win in net for NEC was Chris Galluzzo who recorded seven saves.   Johnson's Jay Palmisano notched 11 saves in the loss. 

NEC returns to action on Wednesday, April 8 when they host in-state rival Plymouth State University. Johnson will hit the field again on Thursday, April 9 when they host SUNY Canton.
