Johnson Squeaks By Me.-Farmington in 8-7 Win

The Johnson State men's lacrosse team earned its first win (8-7) of the season over Me.-Farmington. With the win, the Badgers improve to 1-7 on the year and 1-4 in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) while the Beavers slide to 0-8 on the year and 0-5 in the NAC.

The Badgers took an early lead pulling ahead 4-1 in the first quarter. A hat trick from Andrew Neddo paced the Badgers offense.  Chase Rerrick managed a goal despite being in a man down situation to get the Beavers on the board. Neddo potted the final goal of the first half, to give the Badgers a 5-1 leave heading into the break.

Johnson held the visitors to just one goal in the third period while racking up another three goals to put them ahead 8-2. Farmington took advantage of penalty time though and made a stunning five goal comeback, but were stopped just short of a win. The Badgers held off the Beavers long enough to walk off with an 8-7 win.

The Beavers outshot the Badgers, 18-16, but lost the groundball battle 23-22. Jay Palmisano picked up his first win of the season between the pipes while Caleb Carr was saddled with the loss.

Johnson will return to action on Monday when it faces Lyndon St. at 3:30pm.  UMF will travel to Maine Maritime for a 7:00pm game on the 18th at 3:30pm.
