Thomas Pushes Past Badgers

NORTHFIELD, VT. – The Johnson State College men's lacrosse team fell to Thomas College 9-1 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game at Norwich University on Saturday night.

The Badgers go to 0-5 (0-2 NAC) on the season while the Terriers move to 2-5 (1-3).

1st Quarter

Midway through the first quarter the Terriers got on the board with two quick goals from Jacob Kendall and Colby Blondin to bring the score to 2-0.

2nd Quarter

Thomas surged offensively in the second quarter as the Terriers added four goals from four different players to take a 6-0 lead before the break. 

3rd Quarter

The Terriers added two more in the third from Kade Strout and Michael Small to open up the lead to eight. 

4th Quarter

The Badgers broke through in the fourth as Isaiah LeReau (Danbury, Conn.) scored to put his team on the board.  Thomas added one more in the final minutes to finish the scoring at 9-1.

Goalkeepers

Connor Lamberton earned the victory in goal for Thomas after stopping six shots while Jay Palmisano (Barre, Vt.) turned aside 18 shots for Johnson.

Stats Breakdown

Thomas outshot the Badgers 49-19 overall and earned a 26-182 edge in groundballs. The Badgers went 0-5 on the man advantage while the Terriers were 2-11.

Johnson will host Maine Maritime Academy in a NAC contest on Sunday, April 9th at 12:30 pm at the University of Vermont's Virtue Field.
