Steven Foote Named Head Men's Lacrosse Coach

JOHNSON, VT. – Johnson State College Director of Athletics and Recreation Jamey Ventura announced on Tuesday the hiring of Steven Foote as head men's lacrosse coach.

"We are thrilled to bring Steven on as our head men's lacrosse coach," says Ventura. "Steven brings with him a wealth of coaching experience and a deep level of commitment to student-athlete development."

Foote comes to Johnson from the College of Southern Maryland, where he coached for one season. In 2016, Foote led the Hawks to their winningest season in program history. Prior to his time at the College of Southern Maryland, Foote coached at the high school level in Maryland from 2008 to 2016. Foote also served as Co-Founder, Program Director and Head Coach of the Chesapeake Rage from 2009 to 2016.

"I would like to thank Dr. Elaine Collins, Mr. Jamey Ventura and the members of the search committee for allowing me the opportunity to lead the men's lacrosse program at Johnson State College," says Foote. "I am excited for the season and the opportunity to build a program that will compete for a NAC Championship."

Foote earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Gettysburg College in 2007. He later received a Masters of Arts in Education in 2010 and Administration I Certification in 2014 from Notre Dame of Maryland University.
