JOHNSON, Vt. – The Johnson State College Athletic Department today released the 2018 men's lacrosse schedule. The Badgers will play 10 contests, including seven North Atlantic Conference (NAC) games and three games at home.
First-year head coach Steven Foote and his team will open the season on March 3rd at Salem State in a non-conference tilt. Johnson will then travel to Wheelock the next day for another non-conference matchup. The Badgers will be off until March 17th when they visit Thomas in their first NAC game. Johnson will finish out the month with their last non-conference match of the season at SUNY Canton on the 25th.
The Badgers will start the month of April with an away contest against Maine Maritime on the 7th before hosting their home opener against Green Mountain on the 11th. Johnson will host Husson University on March 14th, then travel to Castleton on the 18th. The Badgers will finish out the regular season with a home contest against New England College on the 21st, followed by their season finale at Lyndon on the 23rd.
The 2018 NAC Tournament will begin on Saturday, April 28th with the third and fourth seeded teams hosting the sixth and fifth seeded teams, respectively. The first and second seeds will receive a first-round bye. The semifinals will be played on Wednesday, May 2nd with the one seed hosting the winner of the 4 vs. 5 matchup and the two seed hosting the winner of the 3 vs. 6 game. The NAC Championship Game will be held on Saturday, May 5th at the highest remaining seed, with the NAC Champion going on to represent the conference in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Johnson finished the 2017 season 0-10 overall and 0-7 in NAC play.
