FRANKLIN, Mass. – The Johnson State College men's lacrosse team dropped a 16-1 non-conference contest to Dean College on Sunday afternoon at Grant Field.
The Badgers drop to 0-2 on the season while the Bulldogs improve to 2-1.
1st Quarter
Dean took a 7-0 lead in the first as Brody Fredericks scored two goals and assisted on another. Colin Hinrichs assisted on three goals while also scoring one of his own.
2nd Quarter
The Bulldogs added three more goals in the second, the last being scored with just :06 seconds left in the half to give Dean a 10-0 lead going into the intermission.
3rd Quarter
Johnson held The Bulldogs to just one goal, keeping them scoreless for the first eight minutes of the quarter.
4th Quarter
The Badgers started off the fourth with an unassisted goal from Ethan Wehse (Stowe, Vt.) with 9:39 left in regulation. Johnson was unable to stop the Dean attack, giving up five more goals to make the final score 16-1.
Goalkeepers
Madison Olsen earned the win for the Bulldogs without facing a shot from the Badger attack. Dilon Poignant played most of the second half in goal for Dean, stopping five shots and allowing the lone Johnson goal. Patrick Bell (Charlestown, R.I.) recorded the loss for Johnson, stopping nine of the 25 shots he faced.
Stats Breakdown
The Bulldogs had 25 shots on goal to Johnson's six and earned a 30-12 edge in face offs. Dean turned over the ball 16 times compared to the Badgers 21.

Johnson will travel to Thomas College on Saturday the 17th for their North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opener slated to tip-off 2:00 p.m.
