MLAX: Badgers Drop First NAC Game to Thomas

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Johnson State College men's lacrosse team fell to Thomas College 16-4 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Friday afternoon.

The Badgers drop to 0-4 (0-1 NAC) on the season while the Terriers improve to 2-2 (2-1 NAC).

1st Quarter

Thomas controlled play throughout the first quarter as they netted three unanswered goals.    

2nd Quarter

The Badgers chipped away at the deficit early in the second quarter as they tallied back-to-back markers by Travis Benson (Underhill, Vt.) and Tyler Cirillo (Colchester, Vt.) to come within one.  The Terriers responded with six goals to finish the half with a 9-3 advantage at the break.

3rd Quarter

The Terriers began extending their lead in the third frame on five unanswered goals, including a pair each from Colby Blondin and Leo Myers to give Thomas a 14-3 lead going into the fourth.

4th Quarter

After two more goals in the fourth for Thomas, Ethan Wehse (Stowe, Vt.) finished the scoring for the Badgers at 16-4.

Goalkeepers

Connor Lamberton took the win in goal for Thomas with three saves.  Patrick Bell (Charlestown, R.I.) made 13 stops in the effort for the Badgers.
