JOHNSON, Vt. – The Johnson State College men's lacrosse team fell to Husson University 21-3 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Saturday morning at Minaert Field.
The Badgers drop to 0-6 (0-3 NAC) on the season while the Eagles improve to 4-7 (4-2 NAC).
1st Quarter
Husson jumped out to a quick lead with two goals in the first two and a half minutes of the game. The Badgers answered back with a goal by Travis Benson (Underhill, Vt.) at the 10:47 mark. The Eagles rallied off five more goals through the rest of the quarter to take a 7-1 lead after one.
2nd Quarter
Benson notched his second of the game two minutes into the second on a goal assisted by Dylan Griffen (Bradford, Vt.). Husson scored seven unanswered through the rest of the quarter to go up 14-2 at the half.
3rd Quarter
Husson tacked on three in the third to go up 17-2 going into the final quarter.
4th Quarter
Rhys Keenhold (Braintree, Vt.) notched a man-up goal five minutes into the fourth for Johnson's final goal of the day. The Eagled would add four more on route to the 21-3 victory.
Goalkeepers
Jaden Wells (1-0) picked up the win in 30 minutes of action, while Zach Glazier stepped in for the second half. Patrick Bell (0-6) got the loss, making 10 saves in the effort.
