CASTLETON, Vt. – The Johnson State College men's lacrosse team fell to Castleton University 20-1 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Wednesday evening at Spartan Stadium.
The Badgers drop to 0-7 (0-4 NAC) on the season while the Spartans improve to 9-6 (6-0 NAC).
1st Quarter
Castleton charged out to a quick lead, scoring two goals in the first five minutes. The Spartans would add two more in the quarter to make it 4-0 going into the 2nd.
2nd Quarter
The hosts would add nine more in the second period to make it 13-0 going into intermission.
3rd Quarter
Johnson finally got on the board with just under four minutes into the 3rd with a goal from Tyler Cirillo (Colcester, Vt.). Castleton would tack on one more goal with :15 left in the quarter to make it 14-1.
4th Quarter
The Spartans secured their win, adding six more goals to make the final 20-1.
Goalkeepers
Dakota Jones (1-0) picked up the win in 30 minutes of action, while Maxx Ingison stepped in for the second half. Patrick Bell (0-7) got the loss, making 14 saves in the effort.
