Badgers Edged by Terriers

WATERVILLE, ME- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's lacrosse team was edged by Thomas College on Saturday afternoon. The Terriers beat the Badgers by a score of 13-9.

The Badgers had six players score in Saturday's matchup against Thomas College. Josh Benak led the Badgers scoring three goals and providing two assists while Ryan Palmisano added two goals and two assists. NVU-Johnson took a slight lead after the first stint of action leading 3-2. Both teams were strong defensively throughout the remainder of the half as the Badgers were held to one goal in the second quarter. The Terriers netted their only goal of the second quarter from Jonathan Wilcox. 

Headed into the second half the Badgers controlled the tempo scoring four goals and holding the Terriers to two goals. Benak scored the first goal of the quarter at the 14:31 mark, followed by a Palmisano goal off of an assist by Dylan Griffin. The Terriers recovered and scored two goals of their own until Kyle Picard and Cesar Ortiz connected for the Badgers closing out the quarter leading by a score of 8-5.

Thomas College came out firing in the final quarter capitalizing on 8 goals while only holding the Badgers to one goal. The Terriers closed the game winning by a final score of 13-9.
