Broncos Defense Hold Badgers

NORTHFIELD, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's lacrosse team faced off against conference opponent SUNY Delhi on Saturday afternoon at Norwich University. The Badgers struggled to find the back of the net and fell to the Broncos by a score of 22-3.

The Badgers were led by Dave Legris, Josh Benak and Ryan Palmisano who each netted a goal. Benak recorded a team high four ground balls. The Broncos came out strong in the first quarter outscoring the Badgers 5-1 taking a demanding lead. The Broncos continued to be impressive controlling possession on the offensive end for the majority of the second quarter while capitalizing on nine goals. Jacob Nygard scored the first two goals for the Broncos, while seven other Broncos also recorded goals in the second stint.

In the beginning of the third the Badgers regrouped as Josh Benak sent a shot on the right of the crease to score the Badgers first goal of the half. But the Broncos physicality and composure on the defensive end limited scoring opportunities for the Badgers. They were held to one goal in the final quarter as the Broncos scored five times to earn the win by a score of 22-3.
