Kangaroos Top Badgers 21-1

JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's lacrosse team host North Atlantic Conference opponent SUNY Canton on Monday evening. The Badgers lost to the Kangaroos by a score of 21-1 in the conference matchup.

The Badgers were led by freshman midfielder Noah Holmes. Holmes netted the only goal of the evening for the Badgers in first quarter of action off an assist from teammate Josh Benak. The Kangaroos had an explosive first quarter, scoring the first goal in the first minute of play and continuing the hot streak as they opened the game on a 9-0 run.

The strong defense of the Kangaroos altered the shots of the Badgers for most of the contest. The Kangroos continued to attack in the final quarter of the second half as they scored six goals.

Out of halftime the Badgers pushed the pace and set the tone defensively as their aggressive approach turned the Kangaroos over and put the Badgers in scoring position, but it wasn't enough as shots were altered and saved by the Kangaroo defense.

The Kangaroos concluded the second half scoring six goals and coming away with the win by a score of 21-1. The Kangaroos were led by Josh Yelvington and Hunter Olsen who netted five goals apiece for the game.
