COLCHESTER, Vt. - Johnson men's soccer were topped by NCAA Division II foe Saint Michael's College on Tuesday 9-0 at Duffy Field.  With the defeat the Badgers stand at 0-3, 0-0 in the North Atlantic Conference while SMC improves to 3-0.

Junior Josh Vlasich (East Kingston, N.H./Exeter/Siena) set a school record for Saint Michael's by accounting for 10 points while tying the mark of four goals.  Senior Ben Lessard (Allenstown, N.H./Trinity) added two goals and tallied an assist, while junior Anthony Stanley (La Ceiba, Honduras/Saint Johnsbury Academy) added a tally and a helper. Senior backs Chris Eckels (Colchester, Conn./Bacon Academy) and Steve Scanlon (East Sandwich, Mass./Sandwich) added their first goals of the year. Classmate Logan Kingman (New Bern, N.C./New Bern) picked up the win and improved the team's shutout streak to three games while playing the first half, and sophomore Nicco Roque (Miami, Fla./Gulliver Prep) worked the second half.

Johnson freshman keeper Alex Pakatar (Troy, N.Y./LaSalle) made 14 saves for Johnson who were outshot 44-3 on the day.  Junior Drew Steady (Milton, Vt./Milton), sophomore Keegan Hanlon (North Haven, Conn./North Haven) (pictured), and freshman Brendan Mulhern (Durham, N.H./Oyster River) each accounted for a shot for the Badgers.

Johnson will move on to play a pair of non-conference matches this weekend in Massachusetts.  On Saturday at 2:00 pm JSC will face-off with Curry College and then on Sunday at 3:00 pm the Badgers play Newbury College.
