Late Second Half Goal Leads Beavers to Edge Badgers 1-0

Johnson State College men's soccer continues its skid with a 1-0 loss against North Atlantic Conference (NAC) foe Me.-Farmington on Saturday afternoon.  Johnson now stands at 0-14 overall, 0-8 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) while the Beavers improve to 3-10-1 overall and 1-4-1 NAC.

Johnson kept the Beavers at bay for the entire game until the 88th minute when Ibrahim Achekh converted a square through ball at the half from teammate Ryan Fairbanks into the game winning goal.

Despite the loss, Johnson outshot the Beavers 15 to 14 while the teams finished the game even at 2-2 for corners.

Johnson Senior Ryan Belen made five saves in the loss while Ronie Morales made four stops in net for Me.-Farmington in the win and the shutout. Derek Reilly saved one shot for the Beavers in 45:00 minutes of play.

Johnson returns to action Saturday when it hosts Lyndon for a 2:30p tilt in the final conference matchup of the regular season. Me.-Farmington will face Green Mountain next Saturday at 2:30p.
