Badgers Slide to 0-2 on the Young Season

The MCLA Men's Soccer team earned a 2-0  win against Johnson State 2-0 Saturday afternoon in the Norwich Cadet Classic.  The Trailblazers improved to 2-0 on the season while Johnson fell to 0-2.

Despite dropping two games, the Badgers were well represented on the all tournament roster seeing both Matt Boltzer and Dominic Caforia named to the All Tournament team.

In the first half, Romeo Grey tallied the game winner as he knocked home his goal off of a feed from Tyler Callahan.  His goal came in the 30th minute and MCLA held the 1-0 lead at the half.

Even though MCLA was dominating the play, Johnson was still in the game until Basile's tally in the 73rd minute.  He beat Johnson keeper Miles Peterson for an insurmountable 2-0 advantage.

On the day, MCLA held a convincing 22-8 shot advantage and a 9-4 edge in corners.

Peterson collected three saves in a losing effort.

Johnson will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Pottsdam for a 7:00pm game.
