Terriers Silence Badgers 5-0

Johnson State College men's soccer dropped a 5-0 decision to visiting Thomas College, Saturday afternoon at Johnson State. The Badgers slide to 2-4-1 on the season and 0-1 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play while the Terriers advance to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the NAC. 

Dakota Duplissie and Tre Ming both scored two goals as the Thomas College men's soccer team earned its first conference win on the season. John Flores-Mckenna also notched a goal in the Terriers' winning effort.
 
Duplissie broke open the scoring of off a William Nilson through ball for Thomas just two minutes into the opening stanza and never gave up control. In the 7th minute, Nilson set Duplissie up again with a cross that tore past Johnson keeper, Alex Pakatar for a 2-0 lead. The Terriers scored once more before the end of the half, taking an outside the box pass from teammate London Steede-Jackson that Flores-Mckenna took home. The Terriers took the 3-0 advantage into the break.
 
Despite stormy skies, the held off and allowed Thomas to put the game away in the second half. In the 62nd minute, Ming netted his first of two goals in the half, with his second tally coming just four minutes later. The Badgers were able to hold the Terriers to just two goals in the second half and answered with equal shot opportunites, but just could not convert the shots into goals. 
 
In goal for Thomas, Winston Trott turned away five shots for the Terriers and was credited with the win. Joakim Sternas saw 27 minutes of play and turned away one shot for Thomas. Pakatar finished with eight saves on the day.
 
The Badgers are back in action on Saturday, Sept 27th for a 3:30pm game against Maine Maritime Academy.
