Johnson Ends the Season Strong, Beats Lyndon 1-0

Johnson State visited Lyndon Saturday and the Badgers defeated the Hornets 1-0 on their Senior Day.

The match was a tightly-contested affair as the lone goal was scored by Sean Springer with 24:40 left of the first half. Springer intercepted a bad clearing pass by the Lyndon defense and beat the Hornet's keeper low to the right side of the net.

The second half was a very physical battle as both teams committed most all of their fouls. In the final minutes of the game, Lyndon's Devin Cowan and Johnson's Matt Boltzer received red cards and were ejected from the game. The dismissal was the result of both players getting into a pushing match.

The Hornets finished their season with an overall record of 6-11 and a mark of 2-7 in the North Atlantic Conference. Johnson finshed 5-10-1 and 3-7 in NAC play.
