Me.-Farmington Takes 2-0 Win from Badgers

The Johnson State College men's soccer team dropped its conference opener 2-0 against Me.-Farmington today at Johnson State. The Beavers improve to 3-2 on the year and 1-0 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) competition. Johnson dips to 1-6 on the year 1-4 overall and 0-1 in NAC play. 

The Beavers, saw goals from Ibrahim Achekh and Austin Dooley In goal, Senior Alex Pakatar stopped two shots while his counterpart Matt Wilson made six saves to pick up the shutout win. 

The take-away for the Badgers today was quality over quantity. The Beavers took seven shots to the Badgers 13 in the first half, but ended up on 1-0 going into the half. Achekh fired a quick laser off to set the tone for the game. 

The Badgers started to pick up momentum in the second half, but were outpaced by the visitors seeing another goal as Dooley converted a quick cross from Luke Sterling into an arcing shot that ended up in the lower left netting. The Badgers got only three looks to Me.-Farmington's five. 

Johnson State resumes their schedule on Tuesday when they host Green Mountain College for a 2:30pm game.
