Pilgrims Roll to 7-0 Win Over Johnson

New England College men's soccer defeated the Johnson State College Badgers 7-0 Saturday afternoon. With the win the Pilgrims improve to 9-6 overall and 3-3 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play. The loss drops the Badgers to 2-10 on the season and 1-5 in the NAC.

NEC's Michael Skarbelis and Ricardi Valme each contributed two goals in the Pilgrims' winning effort. The Pilgrims also saw goals from Camille Sheehan, Miguel Argueta and Austin DeGregory. 

The Badgers were able to hold off the Pilgrims for the first 22:00 minutes of play, but two quick goals put the Pilgrims ahead and they never looked back. 

NEC finished the game out shooting Johnson 22-9. Picking up the win in net for NEC was Tenzin Khenrab who finished with four saves. Johnson's Alex Pakatar notched eight saves in net for the Badgers.

NEC returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 11 when they travel to Lyndon St. for a 3:30 NAC tilt while Johnson will play Colby-Sawyer on Sunday, Oct. 11 as well for a 3:30pm match time.
