Badgers end Season with loss to Lyndon

LYNDONVILLE, Vt.– The Johnson State College men's soccer team fell to North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opponent, Lyndon State College 7-3 on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, Johnson finishes their season (2-12-0, 1-7-0) and Lyndon improves to (5-7-1, 2-6-0).

 

SCORING 

 

1ST Half: Lyndon opened the game by scoring just three minutes into the half with a goal from Devin Cowan. Cowan would go on to score again as well as Hunter Torrey and Nat Kolash to make it 4-0 in Lyndon's favor going into halftime.

 

2nd Half: Johnson's Corey Nystrom (Brookline, Vt.) got the Badgers on the board with a goal in the 55th minute, assisted by John Folsom (Califon, N.J.). Lyndon would answer with three more goals. The Badgers managed to get two more goals in the final 14 minutes from Connor Neathawk (Bellows Falls, Vt.) and Nystrom, but the late run was too little too late as Lyndon came away with the 7-3 victory.

 

 GOALKEEPERS 

 

Garrit Lane (Moretown, Vt.) was tabbed with the loss, stopping nine of 16 shots on goal while Lyndon's Matt LaClair picked up the win stopping three out of Johnson's four shots on goal. Also in goal for Lyndon was Caleb Derbyshire who stopped three out of five Johnson shots.
