MSOC: Johnson Takes Down Becker 4-1

JOHNSON, Vt. – The Johnson State College men's soccer team defeated Becker College 4-1 in a non-conference match on Sunday afternoon at Minaert Field. Dominic Caforia (Waterbury, Vt.) scored a goal and tallied two assists in the win.

SCORING

1st Half: The Badgers (5-2. 1-0 NAC) took a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute when Collin Campbell (Killington, Vt.) sent a cross from the right wing to Rob Buonanno (Wolcott, Vt.) who beat Becker (1-4, 0-0) keeper Sam Majewski to his right for the score. Johnson picked up their second in the 31st minute when Joseph Holloway (Essex County, England) collected a pass from Caforia on a 2-on-1 and buried a shot from the right side.

2nd Half: Caforia made the score 3-0 in the 50th minute after receiving a pass from the left wing, making a move around a defender and burying a shot in the back of the goal. Alexander Vetere (Craftsbury, Vt.) scored the final Johnson goal after collecting a through ball from Caforia and beating the goaltender for the 4-0 lead. The Hawks got on the board in the 64th minute on a penalty shot goal by Devin Ramos.
