CASTINE, Maine – The Johnson State College men's soccer team fell to Maine Maritime Academy 2-1 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Saturday afternoon. Alexander Vetere (Craftsbury, Vt.) scored the lone goal for the Badgers.
SCORING
1st Half: The Mariners (6-5. 1-2 NAC) scored two goals in less than two minutes to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. The first came in the 13th minute when Matthew Caron found Ike Doiron who scored to give MMA the 1-0 lead. Caron scored one of his own less than two minutes later after a feed from Liam Welch to take the 2-0 lead.
2nd Half: Vetere scored his goal, assisted by John Folsom (Califon, N.J.), in the 72nd minute. The Badgers were unable to score the equalizer and fell 2-1.
