LYNDONVILLE, Vt. – The Johnson State College men's soccer team defeated Lyndon State College 4-2 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on Saturday afternoon.
SCORING
1st Half: The Badgers (7-10, 2-7 NAC) got on the board in the opening minutes of the contest, as Collin Campbell (Killington, Vt.) outran Lyndon's defenders to a long ball from Rob Buonanno (Wolcott, Vt.), and fired it past the Hornet goalkeeper to take a 1-0 lead. Lyndon (5-9-1, 1-7-1 NAC)was able to tie things up in the 43rd minute when Liam Kelleher headed in a flip throw in from Joshua Thibault. A minute later, Lyndon took the lead on a nearly identical goal, as this time Devin Cowan headed home Thibault's flip throw to take a 2-1 lead into the break.
2nd Half: Buoananno tallied twice, in the 60th minute and the 68th minute, to put Johnson back in front, 3-2. Johnson added an insurance goal from Joseph Holloway (Essex County, England) with six seconds remaining to take a 4-2 victory.
