Badgers Improve to 2-0 on the Season

JOHNSON, Vt. – The Northern Vermont University- Johnson men's soccer team continued their winning ways with a 4-0 victory over Paul Smith's College on Saturday afternoon at Minaert Field. Daniel Arriola (Romeoville, IL) scored a hat-trick in the winning effort.

With today's win coach Shane Bufano passes Ray Campanile for 3rd place in all time wins. 

Johnson improves on the season with a 2-0 record.

 SCORING

1st Half: Arriola scored the first goal of the game at the 9:13 mark, he was assisted by Sophomore Jarod Croteau (Loudonville, NY). Later in the half Joseph Holloway (Essex County, England) scored the second goal of the game at the 17:52 mark, he was assisted by Rob Buonanno (Wolcott, Vt).  Arriola continued with two more goals at the 36:11 and 66:50 mark.

The Badgers outshot Paul Smith's College 26 to 4 for the game.

GOALKEEPERS

Ryan Willette (Wolfeboro, N.H.) and Gerrit Lane (Moretown,Vt.) both played a half in goal. Lane had two saves for the game.

NEXT UP

The Badgers will travel next weekend and play in the LINAO Mountaineer Invitational at Southern Vermont College. The will face Curry College at 4pm on Saturday, September 8thand will return on Sunday for their second game.
