MANCHESTER, Vt — The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's soccer team was edged by Curry 2-1 in their first match at the LINAO Mountaineer Invitational hosted by Southern Vermont College on Saturday evening.
SCORING
1st half: Johnson (2-1-0) battled with Curry (3-1-1), but the Badgers were unable to find the back of the net in the first half. Curry led 1-0 after 45 minutes of play after a goal by Brandon Dickens.
2nd Half: Sophomore Collin Campbell (Killington, Vt) ripped a shot from the right hand side to put Johnson on the board and tie the game 1-1 in the 77th minute. Curry answered 30 seconds later as Claudio Orsini scored the game winning goal, making the final score 2-1 in favor of the Colonels.
GOALKEEPERS
Senior Gerrit Lane (Moretown, Vt) takes the loss for the Badgers, making three saves on the day. Curry's Paul DeMaio takes the win for the Colonels after making one save in the match.

The Badgers will face Northern Vermont University-Lyndon in the consolation game of the Mountaineer Invitational on Sunday, September 9th at 12:00 p.m.
