Men's Soccer Fall to Lions 4-2

JOHNSON,Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's soccer team fell to Eastern Nazarene College on Tuesday evening by a score of 4-2. With the loss the Badgers fall to 6-3.

SCORING

1st Half: The Badgers opened up the game with a goal by freshman Tristan Salgado (Essex, Vt.) in the 10th minute of play. The goal was assisted by Jarod Croteau (Loudonville, NY). The Badgers took the early 1-0 lead until Eastern Nazarene scored in the 15th minute of play and 22nd minute. Salgado continued to be an offensive spark for the Badgers. In the 28th minute Salgado scored his second goal of the game assisted by Rob Buonanno (Wolcott,Vt.). Eastern Nazarene's Joao Costa scored in the 32nd minute to put the lions up 3-2 going into the second half.

 2nd Half: The Badgers fought hard in the second half with opportunities to score but Eastern Nazarene had the lone goal in the second half. Jose Ruiz scored for the Lions giving them a 4-2 lead.

NVU-Johnson had a total of 9 shots on the game. Eastern Nazarene had a total of 12 shots.

 GOALKEEPER

Gerrit Lane (Moretown, Vt.) played the entire 90:00 minutes in goal for the Badgers. Lane had 4 saves.
