Badgers Battle Hornets In 6-2 Win

LYNDONVILLE,Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's soccer team rolled past NVU-Lyndon by a score of 6-2. With the win the Badgers improve to 7-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play. 

 SCORING

 1st Half: Daniel Arriola (Romeoville, IL) was an offensive presence all game for the Badgers. Arriola scored his first goal of the game at the 26:00 minute mark. The goal came off an assist from Jarod Croteau (Londonville, NY) from a corner kick. The second goal of the game came quickly as Tristan Salgado (Essex Vt.) scored off of a header from Joseph Holloway (Essex County, England). The Badgers continued to be productive in the first half as Rob Buonanno (Wolcott,Vt.) scored the last goal of the half in the 32ndminute off of a Holloway assist. 

 2nd Half: Arriola started the Badgers off with their 4thgoal of the game in the second half. He scored in the 62ndminute. Croteau scored right after in the 65thminute by a pass through the defense from Tristan Salgado. The Badgers were leading 5-0 until NVU-Lyndon scored two unanswered goals by Hunter Torrey. With just a few minutes left in regulation Arriola found himself in a scramble around the goal and connected on his third goal of the game.

 GOALKEEPERS

Both Gerrit Lane (Moretown, Vt.) and Ryan Willette (Wolfeboro, N.H.) spent time in goal for the Badgers. Lane earned the win while collecting 4 saves.
