JOHNSON, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's soccer team and Head Coach Shane Bufano recently gained commitment from George Girgis for the 2019 season.
George Girgis is the Badgers first commitment from the south. Girgis comes to Northern Vermont University-Johnson from the Lonestar State. A native of Cairo, Egypt, but currently resides in Frisco, Texas, Girgis was a member of the Frisco Independence High School boys' varsity soccer team.
Playing at a high level of club in the greater Dallas area, Girgis competes for Ayses 00 Gold in the North Texas Soccer Association. Prior to playing for Ayses 00 Gold, Girgis played at the club level for Liverpool FC in Texas. Head Coach Shane Bufano is excited for the addition of Girgis for the upcoming season. ""George will be a great asset to the 2019 class. He possesses a lot of the attributes that fit our style of play with an abundance of speed and athleticism. He will be able to play on the wing and up top with success", said Bufano.
George will add tenacity and speed to the Badgers midfield this upcoming season.
