Carter Blain Commits to Men's Soccer for 2019 Season

JOHNSON, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's soccer team and Head Coach Shane Bufano tabbed another commitment for the 2019 season this past week.

Carter Blain a native of Thetford, Vermont and a student-athlete on the Thetford Academy varsity men's soccer team has signed the necessary paperwork and has committed to the men's soccer program and Head Coach Shane Bufano for the upcoming 2019 season. Blain is the second committed student-athlete from Thetford Academy following high school teammate Nate Moses who committed earlier this year to the Badgers.

Carter Blain is a hard-working defender who has a strong motor.  He is a tireless worker.  In addition to playing Varsity Soccer, he also played basketball at Thetford Academy. "We are excited to add Carter to our program for the 2019 season. His work ethic combined with his passion for the game of soccer will help him grow throughout his career and will be an asset to our program over time" said Bufano.

Carter played his club soccer with the Lightning Soccer Club in the New England Premiership out of New Hampshire. His experience will help the Badgers this upcoming season.

The NVU-Johnson campus was a deciding factor for Blain's commitment to the Badgers. He played high school soccer with current Badger Arthur Clayton and is excited to attend NVU-Johnson in the Fall.

"I chose NVU because I love the small campus and what the school has to offer", said Blain. "It was also a great place to reconnect and play soccer with some of my past teammates from Thetford Academy."
