Badgers Add Silas Lowenthal for 2019 Campaign

JOHNSON, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's soccer team and Head Coach Shane Bufano received commitment from Silas Lowenthal for the 2019 season this past week.

Silas Lowenthal comes to the Badgers program from close by in Hardwick, Vermont where he was a three-year member of the varsity boys' soccer team at Hazen Union High School. While at Hazen, he also played on the basketball team and is an avid skier. In his senior season, Lownthal earned All-Mountain Division First Team Honors.

Lowenthal will look to add depth to the Badgers midfield. In his final high school season Lowenthal was able to produce offensively accumulating 7 goals and 10 assists in his final season.

Northern Vermont University-Johnson isn't new for Lowenthal living approximately 20 miles from campus. "NVU-Johnson was a great fit for me", said Lowenthal.  "I chose to become a Badger because I loved the small campus as well as it being local for me coming from Hardwick."

Head Coach Shane Bufano believes that Lowenthal has tools that will be beneficial for the Badgers and will add depth to the midfield. "We are excited to add Silas to the Badger family", said Bufano. "Silas will provide depth to the midfield as he has great versatility as a two-way player".

Lowenthal is the Badgers eighth commitment for the 2019 upcoming season.
