First Half Performance Lifts Badgers Over Vermont Tech 10-2

RANDOLPH, Vt.- The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's soccer team improved to 2-1 on the season on Wednesday evening. A strong first half from the Badgers propelled them to a 10-2 victory over Vermont Technical College.

SCORING

1st Half: The Badgers took control early and got on the board in the 6th minute of play off a goal by Elliot Hanna. Back-to-back goals by the Badgers Aibek Allan Bijanov and another from Hanna helped the Badgers take a 4-0 lead in the 19th minute of action. Collin Campbell netted a goal of his own before Vermont Tech was successful in getting on the board from a goal by Gabe Feeney. The Badgers quickly bounced back as Robert Buonanno netted two goals and Bijanov closed the half with his third goal of the contest to give the Badgers an 8-1 lead headed into the half.

2nd Half: Johnson continued to control the pace in the second half but the teams scoring was limited. The Badgers outscored Vermont Tech in the second stint of action 2-1. Tristan Salgado scored a goal off an assist from Hanna in the 80th minute and freshman Marquiss Cruz closed the contest scoring in the 88th minute.
