JOHNSON, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's soccer team defeated the Northern Vermont University-Lyndon Hornets in a North Atlantic Conference match on Tuesday afternoon. The Badgersoutplayed the Hornets bringing home the win by a score of 3-0 and earning a point towards the 2019-2020 NVU President's Cup Challenge.

SCORING

1st Half: Daniel Arriola scored an unassisted goal in the 7^thminute of action to put the Badgers ahead early in the first half of action. The Badgers controlled the pace in the first half and a foul by Lyndon's Matthew Condon awarded Johnson a free kick that resulted in a goal in the 18^thminute by Marquiss Cruz, assisted by Tristan Salgado. The Hornets were unsuccessful in the remainder of the first half trailing the Badgers 2-0.

2nd Half: Rob Buonanno scored an unassisted goal in the 77^thminute to put the Badgers up 3-0. The Hornets were unsuccessful, and a strong defensive front led by Wyatt Moberg and Arthur Clayton maintained the lead and eventually the win for NVU-Johnson.

Zach Blaser recorded two saves and played a full 90:00 minutes.

With the win the Badgers improve to 4-4-1 on the season and 1-2 in conference play.
