Badgers Blanked By Southern Maine
Sweeping the doubles points to start the match, the University of Southern Maine Huskies' men's tennis team kept the pressure on and rolled to a 9-0 non-conference win over the Johnson State University Badgers Thursday afternoon at the Costello Sport Complex Field House.  Originally schedule for play outdoors at the Gorham High School Tennis Courts, the Huskies and Badgers moved indoor due to inclement weather conditions.

With the win, Southern Maine extends its season-opening win streak to three matches and improves to 3-0 overall.  Johnson State remains winless in 2016 and falls to 0-7 with the loss.

Senior Eric Berry-Sandelin and sophomore Samuel Holland cruised to an 8-0 win at second doubles to secure the first points of the match and USM rolled through the Badgers' lineup for the 9-0 win.  Berry-Sandelin and Holland defeated the Johnson State tandem of junior Alex Harcourt and freshman Connor Neathawk.

Southern Maine continued its dominant performance in singles action, winning all six points. Senior Tyler Adams extended his win-streak to 16 matches, dating back through the 2015 season, earning an 8-0 win at first singles over Badger senior Cole Hennessy.  Huskies' sophomore Michael Wong earned his first collegiate win, picking up an 8-6 decision at sixth singles defeating JSU junior Pedro Perez.
