STOWE, VT. – The Johnson State College men's tennis team fell to Thomas College 9-0 on Saturday afternoon at Top Notch.

The Badgers go to 1-2 on the season while the Terriers move to 2-4.

Doubles

The Terriers opened the day with a 3-0 sweep of doubles pairings. Ryan Chasse and Zachary Disch teamed up to beat Gerrit Lane (Moretown, Vt.) and Richie Perez (Belmont, N.H.) 8-3, while Kaleb Payson and Jared Waterhouse took down Alex Harcourt (Colton, N.Y.) and Benjamin Holl (Philadelphia, Pa.) in the No. 2 position. Ross Munn and Mark Amato picked up an 8-0 decision over Brady Rainville (Danville, Vt.) and Evan Daigneault (Newfane, Vt.).

Singles

Thomas took all six matches of singles play, which were played as pro sets. Lane fell to Chasse in No. 1 singles 8-1. Harcourt dropped number two singles 8-1 against Munn. In third flight singles action, Perez was bested by Disch 8-1.

Rainville fell in his No. 4 singles match 8-1. Quinn Lambert (Joppatowne, Md.) and Holl finished off singles with 8-0 losses in No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
