Badgers End Season with 6-3 Loss to Lyndon

LYNDONVILLE, VT. – The Johnson State College men's tennis team fell to Lyndon State College 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon in their season finale.

The Badgers go to 1-13 on the season while the Hornets move to 3-10.

Doubles

Lyndon took a 3-0 advantage after doubles. Gerrit Lane (Moretown, Vt.) and Richie Perez (Belmont, N.H.) fell to Tyler Hall and Jake LaCerda 8-5 in first flight singles, while Alex Harcourt (Colton, N.Y.) and Benjamin Holl (Philadelphia, Pa.) fell 8-2 in the second slot. Matthew Fogg (Morrisville, Vt.) and Ethan Hutchinson (Canterbury, N.H.) closed out doubles with an 8-1 loss.

Singles

The teams split singles play, with each team taking three. Lane picked up a 6-4, 4-6, 10-7 win in first singles over Hall, while Harcourt fell 6-0, 6-4 in second flight singles. Perez dropped third singles 6-0, 6-2.

Holl took a 6-2, 6-1 decision in fourth singles. Fogg dropped fifth singles 6-1, 6-2, while Quinn Lambert (Joppatowne, Md.) picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win in No. 6 singles.
