Cadets Overcome Badgers on Thursday Evening

STOWE, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's tennis team faced in state opponent Norwich University at Topnotch Resort on Thursday evening. The Badgers were overcome as the Cadets took the match by a score of 8-1.

 DOUBLES

The Cadets controlled most of doubles play as Austin Walters and John Folsom competed in #1 doubles but were edged by the Cadets losing 8-3. Colin Compagna and Trevor Newton dropped their doubles match by a score of 8-1 and in the final match freshman Garrison French and Kenneth Chandler fell by a score of 8-1.

 SINGLES

Folsom earned the only win of the evening for the Badgers as he forced a third set against Norwich's Sam Beiter. Folsom fell in the first set by a score of 6-2 but bounced back earning the win in set two 6-4. Folsom ultimately won the deciding set to give the Badgers their only point of the contest. The Cadets controlled the rest of singles action winning out.

 With the loss the Badgers fall to 0-3 on the season.

 The Badgers will get a chance at a rematch against the Cadets as they are set to travel to Northfield, Vermont on Wednesday, April 3rdas they face Norwich at 3:30pm
