Norwich University Tops Badgers in Non-Conference Action

NORTHFIELD, Vt.-The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men's tennis team was defeated by Norwich University by a score of 0-9 on Wednesday evening.

DOUBLES

The Cadets took all three doubles matches as John Folsom and Kenneth Chandler fell in number one Doubles to Norwich's Abbie Barker and Tim Santy by a score of 8-2. Trevor Newton and Donell Shaw lost number two doubles as Tim Birnbaum and Brandon Sichak won by a score of 8-1. The Cadets were strong as they finished doubles play by a score of 8-0.

SINGLES

Beiter got revenge on Folsom at No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory after Folsom edged Beiter last week in singles play. In singles action the Cadets controlled every matchup but Newton at number three singles proved to be a challenge for Noah Stillman. Stillman took the initial set by a score of 6-4 and then controlled the second set winning 6-0. Patrick Bell and Garrison French gave a strong effort in number five and six singles. Bell dropped the first set by a score of 6-2 followed by a 6-4 defeat. French followed as he fell 6-3 and 6-4.
