Johnson Competes in Albany Spring Classic

ALBANY, N.Y. – The Johnson State College men's and women's track & field teams competed at the Albany Spring Classic hosted by the University at Albany on Saturday afternoon. Over 25 teams, including nine Division I squads and an Olympic athlete, competed in the event.

On the men's side, the Badgers were led by Cameron Taylor (Washington, D.C.), who set a program record in the 100 meter with a time of 11.98. Rasul Jackson (Philadelphia, Pa.) had a career best 100'1'' in the javelin, while Kyle Duffy (Waterbury Center, Vt.) improved his personal best in the 3000 meter steeplechase by 50 seconds, finishing in 13:36.03

For the women, Emily McCarthy (Farmington, Maine) set a program record in the 5000 meter with a time of 21:05.29. Brynn Cairns (Rutland, Vt.) also set a program record with a time of 5:40.35 in the 1500 meter. Alyssa August (Granby, Conn.) also threw a 61'3'' in the discus.

The Badgers will compete in the North Atlantic Conference Championship, hosted by Colby-Sawyer College, on Sunday, April 30th.
